Looking to add a Shiba to your family? Please read the information on our website to see if a Shiba is the right breed for your home and lifestyle.

Adopting and caring for a Shiba is a huge responsibility and is not a decision to be made lightly.  Have you considered the costs of owning a dog?  As a responsible dog owner, what will you need to provide for your dog on a daily basis?  Before you bring your Shiba home, please be sure to read our article Preparing to Adopt.

The average life span of a Shiba is approximately 16 years, and although a highly intelligent breed, Shibas are as clueless to their age as they are to their size. Older is Better in this breed, age and maturity bring out the best of everything in a Shiba! Sharing life with an older Shiba is priceless!
